A Book For Elie Postcard

After many hours of work, I’ve finally completed the artwork for the childrens’ book, A Book for Elie! We hope to have copies of the book available in November (I’ll be sure to post the definitive date as soon as I know it) - which can be bought here at Tenley Circle Press.

I took pictures of some of the wooden panels, as the artwork progressed. Here are a few snapshots of the Cover piece:

1. First I traced the sketch onto the piece of wood using carbon paper.

2. Here it is with the traced image, before I started painting.

3. I began by painting in certain colors.

5. Once I had a digital version of the painting in my computer, I would add a few finishing touches in Photoshop and the text in Illustrator.

Look for A Book for Elie to be out soon!

Art to Heart 08

I’m happy to be participating in this great event. Art To Heart ‘08 is a live & silent art auction to benefit Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Wilmington, NC. More than 70 artists have donated original art to this cause, with 100% of the proceeds raised going directly to the hospital.

The experiment has been postponed…

By Anna at 7:23 pm on Friday, June 6, 2008

Due to power outages and the flu going around, I’ve postponed my participation in the Farmer’s Market. I’ll post my rescheduled date as soon as I know when there’s another available booth!

The experiment…

By Anna at 9:32 am on Wednesday, June 4, 2008

This Saturday from 8a - 12p –>

Great Falls, VA
Farmer’s Market

Come to my booth and check out some of the stuff I’ll be selling. Along with a few other items, I decided to try selling my stretched fabric paintings (like the ones at Artomatic) but for a little bit more mainstream market. Just testing it out to see what happens…

Stop by and visit! This particular Farmer’s Market is a new one to the area and is supposed to be great.

Painting away!..

By Anna at 12:18 pm on Monday, April 28, 2008

I’ve been painting, painting, painting… Trying to get ready for Artomatic. The rainy weather we’ve been having lately has been a blessing in disguise - it’s been keeping me in the studio! I hope to finish several new paintings to show. Here’s one that’s almost complete, called “Target”:

Also, if you do happen to be able to make it out to this year’s Artomatic, come check me out @ Space “6 NW A3″. Let me know when you’ll be there, and I’ll try to make a point of being there, as well.
